Valor Mortis developers have revealed that they are going to set a lower price point for the game at $39.99 and also announced that a major story DLC is coming next year.
For those unaware, Valor Mortis is a first-person soulslike title that is being developed by the creators of the Ghostrunner series, One More Level. The game has you rise from the dead as a former member of Napoleon’s army, battling horrifying monsters and unraveling a mystery while wielding supernatural powers. The game is set to release next month on October 13, 2026.
Valor Mortis Devs Go For a Lower Price Point Due to the Competition in Fall
In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), the developers of Valor Mortis explained their decision to price the game at $39.99. They believe that the game’s quality, fidelity, and the 20-hour story provide enough value to compete with other full-priced titles. However, recognizing the numerous game releases scheduled for the same timeframe, the developers are aware of the high demand for both time and money from gamers.
As for the pre-orders, the developers want players to purchase the game when they “a full picture of Valor Mortis’ quality, creativity and craft at launch.”
