Fun turn-based RPG Artis Impact Lands on Nintendo Switch 1 and 2

If you’ve played it on PC already, you know what kind of game Artis Impact is. There’s a familiar post-apocalyptic humans-versus-AI setup, but as you get further into the story, it starts taking some pretty original turns. And you can experience all that on your Switch too now, since the game is now out on Nintendo Switch 1 and 2.

Artis Impact originally came out on Steam in August 2025. It’s developed by Mas, an indie developer from Malaysia, who spent four years making the game using RPG Maker MV. That includes more than 4,000 hand-drawn pixel animation frames.

So, Artis Impact is a pixel art turn-based RPG

In the future, humans are struggling to survive under out-of-control AI, although there are still pockets of resistance hanging on. You play as Akane, a rookie agent working with the resistance organisation A-Lith. She’s joined by Bot, a small AI robot who becomes her partner as they head out to uncover the secrets.

Akane and Bot are quite the opposites. Akane is a naive, good-natured dreamer, while Bot is incredibly pragmatic and starts out pretty cold-hearted. You can improve Akane through continued training, upgrade weapons, fight powerful bosses and gradually get stronger.

Artis Impact mixes retro-inspired pixel art with a hand-drawn comic style. There are manga-inspired comic panels used for cutscenes, while the loading screens and boss battle intro sequences also get their own visual treatment. Take a look at the game below.

The combat is clearly inspired by classic JRPGs, like Terranigma and Harvest Moon. There’s also a passive bonus system that rewards you for doing certain actions, interactions and behaviours. And taking jobs and doing other activities gives you another way to make money, which can reduce some of the grind.

The world in Artis Impact is semi-open, with a world map connecting smaller locations that you can actually enter and explore. There’s a cosy side, too, as you can expand and decorate your home, invest in businesses, cook, exercise, and take baths.

Artis Impact is available on Steam and Nintendo Switch 1 and 2.
