Crunchyroll Announces Theatrical Dates for Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear

Crunchyroll, the ultimate home for anime worldwide, announced today the North American theatrical date for the all-new supernatural anime film Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend. The story follows university student Sakuta Azusagawa unraveling the mystery known as “Puberty Syndrome”, and the line between his dreams and reality increasingly starts to blur. The film will come exclusively to theatres via Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment for three-days-only on February 21, 23, & 24, 2027, in the United States and Canada. The film will be available in both Japanese with English subtitles as well as dubbed in English.

Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend marks the fourth feature film and the conclusion of the Rascal Does not Dream franchise, which also includes two television series. Continuing the story after Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus (2025), the new film picks up where the last chapter left off.

The film is directed by Soichi Masui, based on an original story by Hajime Kamoshida (published in Dengeki Bunko). Animation production is by CloverWorks.

All three films and both seasons of Rascal Does Not Dream are available to watch on Crunchyroll.
