Black Bullet Returns After 12 Years With Revised and Expanded Light Novel

Dengeki has announced that Black Bullet is returning after a 12-year hiatus with Black Bullet: The New World Order, a revised and expanded light novel series by author Shiden Kanzaki.

Publication begins November 10, 2026, with two volumes releasing simultaneously, followed by two books each month for four consecutive months.

Black Bullet: The New World Order is based on the original Black Bullet light novels, but Kanzaki has added and revised portions of it all. The early books will largely follow the existing storyline before the series begins moving in a different direction.

The New World Order 01 and The New World Order 02 will launch in November 2026. December will then see the collective arrival of The New World Order 03 Part 1 and 03 Part 2.

The New World Order 04 Part 1 and 04 Part 2 will follow in January 2027. According to the announcement, this is the point where The New World Order storyline begins branching away from the original novels.

February 2027 marks the start of completely new material. The New World Order 05 and 05 Part 2 will use the original seventh volume as a foundation while developing an entirely new story.

The announcement was accompanied by a video featuring Yuki Kaji and Rina Hidaka, the anime voice actors for Rentaro and Enju, respectively.

The original Black Bullet light novel series began publication in 2011, with its seventh volume arriving in 2014. No further volumes followed, leaving the story dormant for approximately 12 years. The series also received an anime in 2014.
